Fragile Poetry in Fine Silver: The Blumenmädchen by Susanne Kraisser
Delicate, fragile and quietly poetic: the “Blumenmädchen” is one of the small, very intimate miniatures in the work of Susanne Kraißer, created in 2011. As in “Frau auf Block I”, the deliberate contrast between a harmonious, self-contained overall form and a deliberately coarse, fragmentary surface plays the central role here too – a tension that lends the slender, girlish figure a moving, almost vulnerable presence despite its small size.
At just 500 g of fine silver, the “Blumenmädchen” is one of the lightest and most delicate works in the Kraißer programme at BullionArt – a jewel in the truest sense, which holds its own in any elegant room. The edition of 18 signed, dated and numbered examples is now completely sold out; the sculpture is therefore one of those sought-after BullionArt edition pieces that are no longer directly available.
Please note: this edition is sold out at BullionArt. If you are interested, you are welcome to make a non-binding enquiry as to whether an example is available on the secondary market.
