Architecture in fine silver: the sculpture “Kreuzberg”
The object “Kreuzberg” comes from an important conceptual series of 16 cubic models on which Maximilian Verhas worked while developing his groundbreaking rolling bodies further. The sculpture is distinguished by striking architectural elements that recall urban structures and palpably break open the space around them. Cast from approx. 4.3 kilograms of solid fine silver (999), the work fascinates through the tactile and visual contrast between its geometric edges and the cool elegance of the precious metal. As a strictly limited collector’s piece (edition of 25 numbered and signed examples), “Kreuzberg” combines the Berlin artist’s architectural concept of space with the inflation-protected tangible value of a solid cast in physical fine silver.
