Alert strength, calm responsibility: Silverback by Tilmann Krumrey
Standing with his legs apart in calm watchfulness, the gorilla gazes straight ahead, his shoulders and striking neck clearly worked out – Tilmann Krumrey’s “Silverback” captures the quiet authority of an animal that holds a central role within its group. Dominant silverbacks carry the responsibility for cohesion, safety and the well-being of their family – vigilant, but without unnecessary harshness. It is exactly this mixture of strength and care that can be read from the posture of the sculpture.
With around 6 kg of fine silver and a height of 18 cm, “Silverback” is limited to 30 signed and numbered examples – a companion to Krumrey’s well-known animal sculptures “Bulle” and “Bär”, which are now joined by a further powerful, symbolically charged motif.
Please note: the silver price is subject to market fluctuations; the final sale price is based on the prevailing price of fine silver and will be advised on request.
