“Hermaphrodit” by Tomas Medek – A Sculpture in Solid Fine Silver

The sculpture “Hermaphrodit” by Tomas Medek is a solid silver cast made from approx. 10.4 kg of fine silver and embodies the artist’s engagement with structure, transparency and the interior of forms. The organic, cell-like lattice structure of the sculpture was designed on the computer and rescaled specially for this large-format BullionArt edition – the wall thickness of the structure was deliberately increased so that the molten silver could flow completely into every strut during casting.

With a height, width and depth of 27 cm each and a weight of around 10.4 kg, “Hermaphrodit” is one of the larger works in the collection. The asymmetrical, spherical basic form with its striking small top gives the sculpture an almost organic appearance, reminiscent of biological cell structures. The darkly patinated surface of the fine silver emphasises the fine, open lattice structure and lets light and shadow play through the work.

The sculpture is limited to 10 examples, signed and numbered – an investment in physical fine silver and at the same time in a contemporary work of art.

Please note: the price of silver is subject to market fluctuations; the final sale price is based on the prevailing price of fine silver and will be quoted on request.
