Glücksfisch – when silver becomes a symbol

For thousands of years the fish has been regarded as a symbol of good fortune, abundance and prosperity – from the koi in East Asian tradition to the fish as an ancient sign of fertility in Europe. This small sculpture takes up that universal motif and translates it into the clear, pared-down formal language of a silver object: compact, tangible and with an almost talismanic presence.

The Glücksfisch is a solid silver cast in pure fine silver, created in 2007. With a height of approximately 8 cm and a weight of 2.0 kg of fine silver, it is a dense object of substantial value.

Please note: this edition is sold out at BullionArt. If you are interested, you are welcome to submit a non-binding enquiry as to whether an example is available on the secondary market.
